What is Futures Design
The future is in our hands: in yours and in mine. We can change what we don’t like, but first we must imagine and plan it before we can create it.
What we create must be valuable and surpass what we already have in the present, improving people and the planet from an integrative perspective that respects human emotions.
Many things humanity has created are no longer valid today, yet we continue to use them to our detriment. They no longer meet the real needs of people and societies. On the other hand, creation requires responsibility and experience. Would you ask for work advice from someone unemployed? Would you seek health advice from someone who has spent their life sick? Only humanist thinkers can re-humanize society. The designers of the future will be people capable of imagining scenarios that add value to a human being who has lost their own.
From this humanist and futurist perspective, design is not limited to creating objects, interfaces, or services as they exist today; it anticipates, explores, and models possible, probable, or desirable futures. It combines creativity, research, technology, and social and strategic analysis to prepare people, companies, and communities for emerging changes.
